<p>NEW MATERIAL:The peptide of formula (Z is Met or Ile; A is H or N-terminal amino acid sequence such as H-Ser, H-Ser-Ser or H-Arg-Ser-Ser; B is OH or C-terminal amino acid sequence such as Asn-OH, Asn-Ser-OH or Asn-Ser-Phe- OH; X and Y are cysteine, D-cysteine, penicillamine, etc., excluding the case that both X and Y are cysteine at the same time; dotted line is disulfide bond) or its acid addition product. USE:A diuretic and a hypotensor. PREPARATION:The peptide of formula can be produced e.g., by condensing and extending protected amino acids according to the amino acid sequence of the peptide in an organic solvent in the presence of a condensation agent using a method called as liquid-phase process, removing all protecting groups from the synthesized peptide chain with hydrogen fluoride, etc., and forming a disulfide bond.</p> |
