PURPOSE:To identify a position at fault of a pipeline (PL) by comparing a processing result obtained by inputting a test instruction sequence of only general instructions to the PL with a processing result obtained by inputting a test instruction sequence consisting of a serialization instruction and plural general instructions alternately to the same PL. CONSTITUTION:The test instruction sequence 6 of only general suspected instructions generated as many as stages of the pipeline and test instruction sequences formed by combining a serialization instruction and plural suspected instructions alternately are inputted to the same pipeline and processing results are compared. If, however, an error is detected, it is know which stage of the PL mechanism the error occurs from which of the instruction sequences 1-5 the error is detected in because the instruction sequences 1-5 of instructions which run at respective stages of the PL mechanism are different from one another. |
