PURPOSE:To reduce the periodical restriction on the processing time of a microcomputer, by using two crank angle signals. CONSTITUTION:Use is made of the first detector 7 for detecting a crank angle close to the maximum angle of lead and the second detector 2 for detecting a crank angle having a certain angle difference. The rotational frequency is determined by the frequency of the output signal from the second detector 2. Thereafter a processor 3 is operated to control the ignition timing based upon the period elapsed from the time when the output signal from the first detector 7 is obtained. Thus, the transient characteristics will be improved, and in addition thereto the periodical restriction on the processing time of the processor can be substantially reduced. |
