PURPOSE:To obtain an oil burner capable of reducing the amount of noxious matter contained in the exhuast gas, by dividing a heating barrel disposed on the inside of an outer case into an upper and a lower two sections, and making the opening area of the upper section of the heating barrel greater than that of the lower section. CONSTITUTION:In an upper combustion chamber B, air is supplied to a lower section 6 of a heating barrel in a plurality of stages in the same way as in the conventional arrangements, whereas air is supplied to an upper section 7 of the heating barrel in a concentrated mannter by increasing the opening area of the upper section 7 so as to achieve complete combustion of fuel. Since, with such an arrangement, the amount of uncombusted gas is decreased toward the top of the combustion chamber, the intensity of combustion is lowered and the capacity of heating the heating barrel is also lowered. However, by increasing the opening area of the heating barrel, the thermal capacity of the heating barrel is lowered and its radiation area is reduced, so that drop of the rod-heating temperature of the barrel can be prevented. Thus, it is enabled to prevent degradation in the properties of the exhaust gas. |
