The present invention relates to a derailleur for gear changes on a bicycle, having a pair of small wheels 12, 13 for returning the chain mounted between two arms of a swinging support 14 in which a thrust disc 15 or 16 is coordinated with at least one of the said small wheels for returning the chain, the said thrust disc being placed on the side of the chain opposite the side towards which it is to be moved for passing from the small chain wheel to the big chain wheel. A thrust disc 15, 16 made from plastic may be coordinated with each small return wheel, the diameter of each of these discs being equal to or greater than the diameter of the corresponding small wheel 12, 13. <IMAGE>
