PURPOSE:To make any dust being mixed in cooling water eliminable in an efficient manner by forming a filter part, consisting of plural pieces of small holes, in a cooling water flowing part of a metal gasket being installed side by side in a cooling system passage of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 34 being installed interposingly between a cylinder head 6 and an intake manifold 12 of an internal combustion engine 2 is provided with a bolting hole part 36 and an intake passage hole part 38. In this gasket 34 like this, plural pieces of small holes, for example, filter parts consisting of slits are formed in its cooling water flowing part. Then, dust in cooling water is filtered by the slitform filter parts 40 installed in the cooling water flowing part of the gasket 34, checking its passage to the downstream side from the gasket 34, and thereby functions of each mechanism set up in a cooling system of the engine, for example, a thermostat 28 and an automatic choke system passage 32, etc., are mode so as to be brought into full play. |
