<p>PURPOSE:To discharge smoothly chips, by providing a conveyer within a hollow main shaft, and making a constitution so that chips that have entered from a cap entrance at the tip of the hollow spindle may be transported to the rear inside a spindle by means of the conveyer and may be discharged through the rear discharge opening of the spindle. CONSTITUTION:A chuck jaws 6 are operated by the operation of an advance/ retreat pipe 7, and a work is chucked. Next, the work is rotated by driving a hollow spindle 2, and at the same time, a spiral member 11 is made to make a right rotation by means of a motor 18, and simultaneously, chips are blown into the inside of an entrance 10 by means of the injection of compressed air from an air nozzle 22. Thus, when chips produced by cutting enter the opening 10, it is transferred to the rear within a guide pipe 12 which is in a stationary state, as the spiral member 11 rotates, and is discharged from a discharge opening 17 at the rear end. Thus, when cutting is completed as chips are being smoothly disposed of, the spindle 2 is stopped, and the chuck of the work is released by the operation of the advance/retreat pipe 7, and chips within the guide pipe 12 are discharged by means of the spiral member 11.</p> |
