This arrangement for facilitating the burning of a bed of combustible material has a main body shaped and dimensioned so that it can be placed over the material or over a carrier with the material on it. The base of the body rests on the material or carrier, so that the material is practically enclosed. There is a flue of smaller cross-section than the base. fluid (eg, air) can enter the base and be drawn up through the main bulk of the material to the flue. A number of variants are claimed for the geometry of the body, which may be conical or of another shape, and of the flue. USE/ADVANTAGE - The material to be burned can be coal, wood or other mateiral, and the fire can be made in domestic or open locations. The material can also be wood charcoal, for use in barbecue grilling; this and similar material can l¦ be ignited quickly and easily with a minimum of liquid fuel or other aids, so that smells are avoided and costs reduced. |
