The invention relates to a conveying apparatus, in particular for the textile industry, having a conveying unit which has a running rail having one or more running surfaces arranged in parallel, along which running surfaces supporting rollers of a supporting device can run. The conveying unit also has a drawing means which is driven via a drive motor and a drive wheel and is in part guided along the running rail in such a manner that the supporting device is grasped via a driving device and transported along the running rail, a sliding clutch being provided between the drive motor and the drive wheel of the drawing means.
