The present invention relates to a sun visor for a vehicle which is positioned in the upper part of the field of view of the driver. The sun visor for a vehicle comprises a combination of a front sun visor in order to prevent the incidence of direct sunlight from the top at the front and a side sun visor in order to prevent the incidence of direct sunlight from the side at the top. The vehicle panelling is mounted in such a manner that both the front and the side sun visors can be moved about their assigned pivot pins so that the direct sunrays can be kept from entering at oblique angles both from the top at the front and from the top at the side relative to the vehicle, in particular using a side sun visor in dependence on the driving conditions.
