METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING MECHANICAL QUANTITIES INTO ELECTRICAL ONES

A method that can be used for realizing a large number of various sensor solutions for measuring mechanical quantities. The method is based on a change of impedance of a fluid sealed in an elastic material, said impedance change being caused by the deformations of said fluid. The change is measured with electrodes from the direction most appropriate for any given application. The resistance of fluid (2) held in tube (1) undergoes a change upon elongation of the tube. The corresponding change is measured by means of electrodes (3, 4).
