PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a problem and to guarantee sufficient performance by adding a solid-state image pickup element incorporating a specific information generating means and a means decoding specific information. CONSTITUTION:Number of horizontal picture elements of a solid-state image pickup element 1a is 510 and specific information is obtained as an output signal (Vs) of a sample-and-hold circuit 2a at the 3rd horizontal output period of the vertical blanking period. Since output signals Q3, Q4 of an AND gate 617 are at an H level during the horizontal output period, the specific information is stored in a register 62. A parallel output signal of the register 62 and reference information from a reference information circuit 72 are compared and when they are dissident, an output signal of the circuit 71 is fetched in a latch 74 and inverted from H to L. Thus, when an AND f' between an output signal (f) of an oscillation circuit of a drive signal generating circuit 4a and an output of the latch 74 is used in place of the signal (f), the circuit 4a is stopped and the operation of a solid-state image pickup device is stopped. When the reference information and the specific information are coincident, the output of the circuit 71 goes to an L and an output of the latch 74 goes to an H level and the image pickup device continues its operation. |
