In order to improve heat dissipation from the stator of an electric motor having a winding which passes through the laminated stator core and is embedded in a cast-resin body, and having a connecting housing of the process machine, which housing is connected to the electric motor, it is proposed to connect a part to the laminated stator core either in a force-fitting manner or in a positively locking manner by means of the cast resin, this part consisting of a highly thermally conductive material and its side pointing towards the environment being provided with ribs. As an alternative to this, an electric motor is proposed which has a laminated stator core in order to improve the heat emission from the stator, which core is constructed from laminates of different size so that the stator laminates themselves form ribs for improved heat emission.
