An apparatus for pelletizing material comprises a rotating pan (1) inclined at 30 to 60 DEG , a device for feeding a liquid binder to material in the rotating pan and a device (4) for measuring a thickness of material in the rotating pan. The device for measuring a thikness of material is a device for measuring a thickness of material by the use of ultrasonic waves.
