<p>Data relating to treatment of the human or animal body is collected by identifying each body part and each treatment process with a machine-readable coded identifier, and then reading the appropriate codes for the body part and the treatment process when treatment is carried out. The code readings are passed to a computer which checks that the combination of codes read is a valid combination and then either accepts or rejects the information. The invention is especially useful for the calculation of charges for dental treatment, but also has other applications.</p> |
