The terminating device contains a connecting device (1) which can be inserted into the column (2) and a mounting device (3) to fasten the connecting device (1) on the column (2). The mounting device (3) has an adjusting device (33) having two threaded jaws (34) which have in each case a rod (38) and can be brought into and out of engagement with the connecting device (1), and having an actuator (35) which displaces the threaded jaws via the rods (38) when the actuator (35) is rotated. By this means, in the case of closed threaded jaws (34), a fine adjustment of the connecting device (1) and, in the case of opened threaded jaws (34), a rapid adjustment of the connecting device with respect to the chromatography bed can be undertaken. <IMAGE>
