In this haemorrhoid treatment device a separate, rounded treatment body (5) of a soft, flexible material, for example a foamed ball, is fastened on the tip of the rod-shaped cannula (1) which comprises an ointment supply channel (2) and lateral outlet openings (3) for the ointment. On insertion in the anal canal the foamed ball is compressed. It then rests firmly, and yet softly and flexibly, against the wall on all sides so as to adapt elastically to the conditions of the anal wall, so that it can be used to distribute the ointment by pulling the cannula to and fro and to massage the sphincter muscles, if appropriate. <IMAGE>
