Automatic test arrangement for hollow glass objects e.g. bottles - has round test table with bottle aperture opto-electronic test heads between base tester and filling machine

The output of the conveyor belt (4) for the good bottles checked by a bottle base tester (3) is associated with a feed (9) to receptacles (7) in a motor driven rotary test table (8). Each receptacle has an associated test head (10) for opto-electronic checking of the bottle aperture sealing surface and glass thread. Defect pulses received from the sensors or photocells of the heads are fed by cable (19) and via a computer (17) to an ejector (12) associated with a conveyor belt (13). The ejector pushes rejected bottles onto a parallel reject conveyor (16) whilst good bottles are delivered to a bottle filling machine (18). USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic testing for damage in region of mouth and thread. Can be inserted without problems between base testing machine and bottle filler of existing system with limited space.
