摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image of uniformly high density which is free from ground fogging at all times by making adjustments sop that specific requirements are satisfied when an electrostatic latent image is visualized by bringing a toner thin layer into contact with the electrostatic latent image. CONSTITUTION:When the thin toner layer is brought into contact with the electrostatic latent image to visualize the electrostatic latent image, adjustments are made so that ¦q¦m<=100/vlR is satisfied, where a toner electrostatic charging quantity is denotes as q(C/g), a toner sticking amount per unit area of a toner carrier surface as m(g/cm<2>), the moving speed of the toner carrier surface as V(cm/sec.), the effective length of the toner carrier as l(cm), and the electric resistance value between the toner carrier surface and a developing bias voltage applying means as R(OMEGA). Consequently, the conditions are set in total consideration of various important parameters and an electrostatic latent image pattern can be developed excellently without causing ground fogging, a density decrease or decrease in resolving power due to overdevelopment.
