PURPOSE:To obtain a display whose luminance is uniform and whose display characteristic is satisfactory by placing a light scattering plate between a light source and the liquid crystal display device and forming a pattern for making an uneven luminance uniform on the light scattering plate. CONSTITUTION:Between a liquid crystal display device 10 such as a word processor, etc., and light sources 12, 13 such as a fluorescent lamp or a cold cathode discharge tube, etc., first and second light scattering plates 15, 16 are placed. Also, on a substrate of a first light scattering plate 15, a light reflecting layer 15b, a light cutting-off layer 15c, and a preventive layer 15d for preventing the light cutting-off layer 15c from being imprinted to a second light scattering plate 16 are laminated successively in accordance with a prescribed pattern from the side being near the light source. The light reflecting layer 15b is printed by white printing or a printing material whose reflection factor is high so that an arrival of light to the light cutting-off layer 15c is decreased. Moreover, the light cutting-off layer 15c is formed by ink whose transmittivity is low and the luminance of a high luminance part is lowered. |
