PURPOSE:To certainly judge a dynamic object without mistaking noise for the dynamic object by grasping the position of a moving object on the basis of the changes of brightness at the coordinate points of three or more adjacent points. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus for tracking a dynamic object is equipped with a video camera 3 for catching the movement of a dynamic object 2 and a personal computer for carrying out a program executing operational processing. In the comparing the i-th image with the (i-1)-th image, brightness difference between the respective coordinate points within a window is calculated. Only when three or more points where the brightness difference between certain coordinate points exceeds a threshold level are present in a state adjacent to each other longitudinally and laterally, it is regarded that there is a dynamic object to be detected. Therefore, the large value occurring from noise can be accurately distinguished from that occurring from the dynamic object. |
