PURPOSE:To obtain a blank material for unidirectional steel plates having no flaws on the surfaces and having excellent magnetic characteristics by setting the end temp. for hot rolling of a silicon steel blank material contg. specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, S within the temp. range expressed by the specific equation based on the ratio of the contents of Mn and S contained therein. CONSTITUTION:In a stage for producing a unidirectional silicon steel plate from a silicon steel blank material contg. <=0.080% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.02-0.10% Mn and 0.008-0.05% S, the temp. of the blank material after the end of the hot rolling is set within the temp. range calculated from the equationIand the equation II based on the ratio between the contents of Mn and S contained in the blank material. Thus, the hot rolled steel plate for the unidirectional silicon steel plate which does not produce any flaw on the surface of the blank material in the stage of hot rolling and has excellent magnetic characteristics is obtained. |
