PURPOSE:To improve carrier coatability and to avert the inter-lot dispersion in carrier production by subjecting specific magnetic carrier core particles to a coating treatment with a compsn. mixture specified in the mixing ratio of two kinds of electrically insulating resins which are respectively specified in critical surface tension. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic carrier core particles are classified by air classification after ferrite calcination-disintegrating-sieving of the carrier core material to prepare the magnetic carrier core particles having contg. <=2wt.% magnetic carrier core particles having amu weight average mol.wt. and =30dyn/cm critical surface tension. The carrier which has the excellent carrier coatability and is free from the inter-lot dispersion is obtd. in this way.
