PURPOSE:To prevent a printing dot from existing at an unnecessary position by a method wherein a thinning out processing circuit is controlled by a specific thinning out start control data, and a row direction thinning out start position of the printing dot is independently established. CONSTITUTION:At a point of time when an initial dot column data Dc is read, a thinning out start control data Ds is read and is stored in a control data memory 12. The thinning out start control data Ds is inputted to an AND circuit 13. After thinning out processing, the initial dot column data Dc is processed by AND operation with the AND circuit 13 by the thinning out start control data Ds, and is stored in a printing data register 6 as a printing data D. The printing data D is stored in a data memory 3 as a former dot column data Df to be used for thinning out processing. The thinning out start control data Ds and this time dot column data Dc are inputted to an OR circuit 4, and are stored as a following thinning out start control data Ds' in the control data memory 12. A second and thereafter dot column data Dc is read from a character font memory 1, and a thinning out processed result is controlled by the following thinning out start control data Ds' via the AND circuit 13. |
