PURPOSE:To inexpensively and easily separate the product high-purity carbonyl compd. from catalyst by bringing an olefin and water into contact with one catalytic electrode provided to an ionic conductor and an oxidizing compd. into contact with the other catalytic electrode to form a fuel-cell system. CONSTITUTION:In the fuel cell-type reaction vessel having an ionic conductor provided with the catalytic electrode, an olefin and water are brought into contact with one electrode, and a oxidizing compd. into contact with the other electrode. A metal such as Pd and Pt, its oxide, etc., are used for the catalytic electrode. A proton acid such as phosphoric acid is used as the ionic conductor. C2H4, C3H6, etc., are used as the olefin, and oxygen, air, etc., are used as the oxidizing compd. By this fuel cell system, a carbonyl compd. such as C2H4O and C3H6O is selectively obtained, and the compd. can be easily separated from the catalyst. |
