摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate the image bleeding and contamination due to the heat of a hot press and to form a transfer image having resistance even to dry cleaning and wear resistance by selecting a methacrylic ester resin as a polymer material used for an ink layer, and providing a hot melt layer on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The title medium consists of a substrate, a hot melt layer, and a thermal transfer ink layer. As the substrate, a plastic film of the order of 3-10mum thickness can be used ; for example, a polyester film, a polycarbonate film, and polyimide film. The ink layer is mainly composed of a homopolymer of alkyl methacrylate, a copolymer of alkyl methacrylate with each other, or a copolymer of alkyl methacrylate with another monomer and a coloring agent. As the copolymer of alkyl methacrylate with another monomer, a copoly mer of alkyl methacrylate with vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, or ethylene can be exemplified. The hot melt layer to be provided between the substrate and the thermal transfer ink layer is mainly composed of a hot melt substance.
