PURPOSE:To prevent the forming of unwanted holes due to a laser light irradiation and to prevent the breakage of an address part due to the heat by a regeneration power by a method wherein a light spot waiting area free from a damage due to a laser light irradiation is provided on the longitudinal end part of a card, and a good thermal conductor layer is provided under an optical recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In an optical card 21, a light spot waiting area 23 free from an opening even by a laser light irradiation is provided in the end part area of the optical card moving along a tracking groove 22. The light spot waiting area 23 is formed by attaching a metal layer of Al or the like on an upper protective layer 5 by vapor dipositing or sputtering. Then, a focus servo mechanism and a card feed mechanism in an optical card device are controlled so that the optical spot waiting area 23 made of Al vapor deposition layer is kept under a focus servo control, whereby the reduction of a laser power in regeneration is prevented, a damage due to a laser light irradiation never occurs in a recording regeneration area, and a high-reliable optical card can be obtained. |
