PURPOSE:To form a uniform thin layer of naphthalocyanine compound by reacting peroxide with the naphthalocyanine compound, introducing a substituent group to solubilize it, developing it in solvent, coating a substrate therewith, and then reducing it with reducing agent. CONSTITUTION:Oxidation of naphthalocyanine compound with peroxide is conducted by agitating in mixture the naphthalocyanine compound and the peroxide in an ambient temperature range of 10-40 deg.C. Naphthalocyanine is introduced with substituent group by the oxidation to generate soluble naphthalocyanine oxide soluble in solvent. After the reaction is finished, the reaction mixture is filtered to separate unreacted naphthalocyanine compound particles. Further, filtrate is concentrated, and soluble naphthalocyanine oxide is isolated by a method with a columnar chromatogram, etc. The obtained solubilized naphthalocyanine oxide is dissolved again in solvent, the substrate is coated therewith to form a thin layer, and reduced with reducing agent, thereby regenerating naphthalocyanine. |
