PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform transfer image with no irregularities having superior resistance to rubbing by containing a hot melt substance and a polyamide resin, each of which has a specific melting point or softening point, and a thermoplastic resin having a specific structure in a thermal transfer ink layer. CONSTITUTION:On a heat-resistant substrate, a thermal transfer ink layer is formed. The thermal transfer ink layer contains at least a hot melt substance having a melting point or softening point ranging 60-130 deg.C, a polyamide resin having a melting point or softening point ranging 75-140 deg.C, and a thermoplastic resin shown by a formula (in the formula, (n) represents an integer of 50 - 1,000) as main components. A mixture of the hot melt substance, the polyamide resin, the termoplastic resin shown by the formula, a coloring agent, and various types of additives, as necessary is mixed in an organic solvent appropriately selected from among toluene, xylene, methyl ethyl keton, and others and dis persed by a paint shaker, a ball mill, an attritor, or the like to produce a ther mal transfer ink. This ink is applied on the heat-resistant substrate, for example, by wire bar to form a thermal transfer recording medium. |
