PURPOSE:To enable excellent printing quality thinning out printing to be performed by establishing independently a thinning out printing start position in a row direction by a method wherein the thinning out printing start position is independently established for each part in which printing dots continue in the row direction of each thinning out start control data. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 10 sets a read address in a working area of a RAM 12, and reads a data from a memory part 11B. Since a thinning out start control data D1 is stored in a top address of the memory part 11B, a control data D2 stored in a following address next to the control data D1 is read. For a font data of a character stored in a memory part 11B of a ROM 11 and corresponding thinning out start control data D1, D2, a font data [1] indicates a printing dot and a [0] indicates a non-printing dot. In the case where the thinning out start control data D1, D2 correspond to only the font data of the character and two or more positions in which printing dots continue in one row direction exist, a start position of the printing dot at each position is established, and the thinning out start control data D1, D2 are composed of vertical one column data into which [0] and [1] are combined. |
