PURPOSE:To obtain a composition outstanding in flame retardancy, solvent resistance and mechanical properties by blending a styrene resin of syndiotactic structure, polyphenylene ether resin and flame retardant. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating a total of 100 pts.wt. of (A) 10-95wt.% of a styrene resin having mainly syndiotactic structure and (B) 90-5wt.% of a polyphenylene ether resin with (C) 3-40 pts.wt. of a flame retardant, pref. halogen- or phosphorus-based one and (D) 1-15 pts.wt. of a flame retardant auxiliary, pref. antimony-based one, esp. antimony trioxide. This composition can further be blended with (E) 5-85 pts.wt. of a rubbery elastomer and/or 1-250 pts.wt. of inorganic filler. |
