<p>PURPOSE:To enable penetrating amounts of a lower cloth and overlapped lower and upper cloths to be read at one time of operation by sequentially reading and storing respective penetrating amounts of the lower cloth interposed between a light emitting element and a light receiving element and the overlapped lower and upper cloths with respective detecting means to set a cloth end detecting thresh-old value according to a difference between the penetrating amounts of the overlapped lower and upper cloths. CONSTITUTION:A lower cloth 23 is interposed between a light emitting element 5 and a light receiving element 7 constituting a detecting means 9a, and overlapped lower and upper cloths 23, 24 are interposed between a light emitting element 6 and a light receiving element 8 constituting a detecting means 9b. Thus, a cloth end detecting threshold value can be set according to a difference between penerating amounts of the lower cloth 23 and the overlapped lower and upper cloths 23, 24, so that said penetrating amounts can be read by one time of operation of a reading-indicating means to simplify a plurality of operations for setting said threshold value.</p> |
