A method for prepg. a metallic sheet for transfering pictures comprises (a) forming base-coat-layer by painting transparent solvent type synthetic resin varnish (TSTSRV, i.e. mixt. of vinyl chloride- vinyl acetate copolymer as major, cyclohexanone, solvent and hardener) on a film, (b) printing desired pictures by screen method on the film with TSTSRV, (c) hot stamping with a vacuum evapn. foil, and (d) coating with TSTSRV (having adhesion).
