Vehicle door drive mechanism - has leaves on telescopic tubes forming guides after outwards movement

The drive mechanism is for a vehicle door moved in a first stage from the shut position out from the doorway, and slid in a second one along the wall inot the fully-open position. Each door leaf (3, 4) is suspended on a telescopic tube (9) parallel to the wall and extending for the width of the doorway. Fixed to the tube is an actuating mechanism moving it in the first stage out from the doorway along an arc of a circle, the tangent of which at the end of this movement is parallel to the wall. Drive mechanisms coupled to each leaf then slide them along the wall as they are guided by the tube. A synchronising system is provided between the actuating and drive mechanisms.
