The front panel is formed by a sheet of plastic material illuminated from the inside with LED indicators whose arrangement forms practically a circumference. These indicators are permanently lit up and serve as reference to a further strip of indicators parallel to the first one which light up individually (or, rather, one lights up when the preceding one goes out), following the mechanical movement of the rudder, which movement is detected by a variable resistance element installed in the mechanical or hydraulic system of the rudder. A buzzer emits an acoustic signal when the rudder reaches the port or starboard stop, at which moment the equipment cuts off the supply of electricity to the corresponding electrovalve, preventing overstressing and damage to the pressure circuit.
