PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary to develop the mail function of respective terminals, and to facilitate communication using the mail terminal between the mutual terminals by applying a common mail function to a packet switching equipment. CONSTITUTION:A mail box, which stores mail contents, mail box identifying information and a mail box password, and mail box user identifying information are stored into a mail box file 14. An external interface 11 sets and releases a logical communication path to use the mail function by a user, controls the exchange of the data on the communication path, discriminates whether a command sent from the user at a terminal is a control command or a data command, when it is the control command, the interface 11 executes a command analyzing processing, discriminates the type of the command, and distributes it to a concerned processing. A mail processing part 12 inputs the command distributed by the external interface 11, and controls the concerned processing respectively. Thus, the independent development of the main function by the respective terminals is made unnecessary, and the communication using the mail function between the mutual terminals is facilitated. |
