PURPOSE:To allow the long-term use of the above sensor at a high temp. by forming the essential component of an inorg. adhesive agent of the mixture composed of solid electrolyte ceramics and insulating ceramics and specifying the thickness of an adhesive agent layer after calcination. CONSTITUTION:The inorg. adhesive agent consists essentially of the mixture composed of the solid electrolyte ceramics and the insulating ceramics and is so used that the thickness of the adhesive agent layer after calcination attains 0.1 to 1.0mm. The inorg. adhesive agent, therefore, has the affinity to both of the solid electrolyte layer and the insulator layer and exhibits high adhesive strength. Since the solid electrolyte ceramics and the insulating ceramics have not so much good sintering property, the formed adhesive agent layer is porous if the inorg. adhesive agent in which these ceramics co-exist is calcined. A buffer effect to a thermal impact, etc., is, therefore, generated and the trouble such as cracking of the sensor is prevented. Further, the peeling of the adhesive agent layer in use at a high temp. is prevented with the optimum range of the thickness thereof.
