PURPOSE:To improve recording sensitivity by inserting an intermediate layer having a low modulus of elasticity between an org. dye recording layer and a surface protective layer. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer consisting of an org. dye compd., the intermediate layer having <=20kgf/cm<2> 100% tensile stress specified in JIS K6301 and the surface protective layer having >=H hardness in pencil hardness test specified in JIS K5400 are successively laminated on a substrate. Any org. dye compds. which generate holes or deformed parts in the recording layer consisting of said compds. under an irradiating laser beam are usable as the org. dye compd. to be used for the recording layer. The DRAW type optical disk of a veneer structure having good recording sensitivity is obtd. in this way. The influence of the surface protective layer on the recording sensitivity is decreased to a negligible level by introducing the intermediate layer between the recording layer and the protective layer, and therefore, the use of the high- hardness material as the surface protective layer is possible. |
