The invention relates to a shuttle valve which is fitted in the parting line between two directional control valves in order to select and transmit the higher load pressure in each case. Insert bodies provided with seat surfaces for the valve bodies are screwed into overlapping, coaxial bores in both valve housings. The shuttle valve is interchangeable and has a prolonged service life.
