In the vehicle lock, a horizontally arranged locking disc is rotated about a shaft mounted in the housing of the device. In one direction of rotation, in cooperation with a mounting of the opposite side, the door is pulled up against the doorframe and locked as a result of the design of the locking disc. In the opposite direction of rotation of the locking disc, the door is unlocked and can be opened. The locking disc is driven by a drive shaft having a toothed pinion by means of a geared motor, and the latter can also be a separate reduction gear with a flanged-on drive motor. A small, automatic and quiet door lock becomes possible with few parts.
