PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity, the high contrast, the graininess and the color reproducibility of the subject material by specifying a mean silver iodide content of a silver halide contd. in a blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer to >=11mol.%. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material comprises one or more layers of each a blue, a green and a red sensitive emulsion layer mounted on a substrate, and the mean silver iodide content of the silver halide contd. in the blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer is specified to >=11mol.%. The silver halide particle contd. in the blue sensitive layer is preferably composed of different layers respectively in the inner part and the outer part of the particle. For example, the inner part of the particle is composed of a silver iodobromide or a silver chloroiodobromide which contains a high density silver iodide and the outer part of the particle is composed of a silver iodobromide or a silver chloroiodobromide which contains a low silver iodide, and the particle is preferably constituted of the particle having a double structure comprising the inner part and the outer part thereof. When the silver iodide content in the outer part of the particle is too high, as the development activity of the particle is lost, and the sensitivity loss and the gradation loss of the particle appear, the silver iodide content in the particle is preferably 0-10mol.%. Thus, the sensitivity, the graininess and the color reproducibility of the photosensitive material are improved. |
