PURPOSE:To improve graininess, sharpness and image preservable property by specify ing the magenta color forming couplers to be incorporated into the green-sensitive emulsion layer bearing the gradation of the lowest density part among the green- sensitive emulsion layers and the magenta color forming couplers to be incorporated into the green-sensitive emulsion layer bearing the gradation of the highest density part and the concn. of the aldehyde compd. in the final chamber of a rinsing bath. CONSTITUTION:A ratio of >=50mol% of the magenta color forming coupler incorporated into the green-sensitive emulsion layer bearing the gradation of the lowest density part among the green-sensitive emulsion layers is 4-equiv. couplers and >=70mol% of the magenta color forming couplers incorporated into the green-sensitive emulsion layer is 2-equiv. couplers. Further, the concn. of the aldehyde compd. in the final chamber of the rinsing bath is <=1.0X10-<2>mol/l. The preferable content of the 4-equiv. couplers is >=60% and the content of the 2-equiv. couplers is >=80mol.%. The ratio of the 4-equiv. couplers incorporated into all the green-sensitive emulsion layers to the total magenta couplers is preferably 50 to 5mol%. The graininess and sharpness are improved in this way the image preservable property at and under a high temp. and high humidity is improved. |
