PURPOSE:To record an information signal with high density by forming at least one of a optical member and a recording medium on a face rectangular to the advancing direction of a laser beam like a rugged shape having a previously fixed pitch. CONSTITUTION:Although recording light flux made incident upon the optical member is absorbed by a photoconductive layer member PCEws having a wavelength/light absorbing characteristic, incident control light flux 47 is transmitted through a transparent substrate 27 and a transparent electrode Etw constituting the optical member, made incident upon an insulating layer IL of the recording medium, reflected by an electrode Epg, and outputted as reflected light 47r. The insulating layer ILpg and the electrode Epg are formed on the recording medium as rugged shapes at the previously fixed pitch (equal to the track pitch of recording tracks formed on the recording medium) on the face rectangular to the advancing direction of the light flux 47. Thereby, focus control information and tracking control information are generated at both of recording and reproducing operation. Consequently, high density recording can be attained. |
