PURPOSE:To allow a bus line to be a low resistance so that the bus line can be driven from one side, and also, to eliminate the constraint of a disconnection recoverable number of the bus line by providing a stripe-like black pattern consisting of a non-light transmissive conductive material in parallel on the bus line. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of a one-side substrate 21 of a pair of opposed insulating substrates 21, 22, plural pieces of picture element electrodes 3 arranged like a matrix and plural pieces of bus lines 2 provided in accordance with the row or the column of plural pieces of picture element electrodes 3 are provided. Also, on the surface of the other side transparent substrate 2, a black pattern 1 consisting of a stripe-like non-light transmissive conductive film for bringing the periphery of each picture element electrode 3 to light shielding is provided so that connecting ends 8, 9 are opposed to both ends of the black pattern 1 and both ends of the corresponding bus line 2, respectively in accordance with the bus line 2 in at least one direction. Moreover, respective opposed connecting ends 8, 9 are constituted so that they can be connected electrically. In such a manner, the bus line 2 is allowed to be a low resistance so that the bus line 2 can be driven from one side, and also, the constraint of a disconnection recoverable number of the bus line 2 is eliminated, and the reliability of repairing can be enhanced. |
