摘要 PURPOSE: To form a three-dimensional shape having a predetermined final thickness by a method wherein the graphic display of a sheet material used for a compression mold to be formed into the three-dimensional shape in order to determine the initial thicknesses at respective locations in the sheet material by being aided with a digital computer. CONSTITUTION: An elastic sheet material 10 has marks, through which lines are drawn for producing lattices of square unit areas 14, and is placed between a three-dimensional compression mold having a male part 16 and a female part 18. The sheet material 10 is prolonged on the male part 16 of the compression mold and, at the same time, compressed by the transparent female part 18 to a final shape, resulting in deforming the respective unit areas 14 into enlarged unit areas 20. Each final area of a unit 20 is determined by calculating its area on the basis of the measured peripheral length and diagonals of each unit 20. A final unit area is determined by leveling all the unit areas in a region 21 directly surrounding the unit area. The size of the region 21 is set to be the function of the average discontinuous fiber length in the reinforced sheet material. A digital computer is used for the above-mentioned calculation.
