In a transport system with battery-operated vehicles, in which transport system charging points are provided at which charging current can be fed to the batteries of the vehicles via contacts, and in which transport system both the control of the vehicle movement and the control of the charging of the batteries takes place with the aid of computers, in each case one control element and one microcomputer for the control of the charging of the batteries are arranged in the vehicles. Preferably, power supply devices are provided at the charging points.
