PURPOSE:To expand selective ranges of appplicable stock and variable amouts of a web width and to manufacture shape steels of various sizes by installing a universal rolling mill provided with a pair of web thickness drafting rolls being a segmental structure in which a roll width is freely changeable. CONSTITUTION:A shape stock 1 is subjected to one or more rolling passes by U1 and U2 mills under a condition in which flange parts of the stock 1 are restricted from both sides of the flanges to form a prescribed product size by expanding a web width of the stock 1. In the final pass (U2 mill) of those rolling passes, a web part W is spread without drafting by V rolls and then finish rolling combining flange raising by a UF mill is performed. |
