PURPOSE:To change over and utilize all bands by simple changeover operation by installing four printable bands to a ribbon and mounting a selector switch selectively commanding either one band to a changeover control means set up to a ribbon shift mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The ribbon of single-color four bands can be used in a printer, and the printer is composed of a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, an output port 2, a motor driver circuit 3, a head driver circuit 7, a ribbon shift mechanism 10, a selector switch 20, an input port 21, etc. When the selector switch 20 is turned ON, the A(D) band on the outside is selected, and not only the A(D) band but also the D(A) band are utilized with printing without ribbon shift. When the selector switch is turned OFF, on the other hand, the B(C) band on the inside is chosen, and not only the B(C) band but also the C(B) band are utilized without ribbon shift with printing. A ribbon 11 is formed in a Mobius' loop, and the whole regions of the ribbons can be used effectively by the two-time shift operation of the ribbon shift mechanism 10, thus increasing the working speed of printing without cassette exchange work every time. |
