A power supply for use with electrical systems has a number of modules (11-1n), each contg. an operating voltage source (21-2n) for loads (41-4n). Diodes (31-3n) can be connected between the source and the load. Outputs from each module are made (b1-bn) with a back-up power supply module (5) having a monitoring stage (50a) connected to the sources of the supply modules. The back-up power source (50) connects via diodes (51-5a) to the load connections. The source is of constant voltage type with current limiting. ADVANTAGE - Single main source but redundant supplies at comparatively low expense.
