A calculating device is proposed having a right-angled frame (1, 2, 3, 4), rods (6) running parallel to one frame arm (1, 2) and running bodies (7) held displaceably on the rods, which can also be used for multiplication and division in the decimal system by means of the application of ten running bodies (7) on each rod. On one frame arm (4) running transversely, symbols (12, 15), which are stationary or can be displaced in the transverse direction, are mounted.
